CAN-GYM PROGRAM
Classes for 6+ years of age
Let's Learn Gymnastics!
Children ages 6 and up can begin to properly learn the skills of gymnastics from the fundamentals to advanced skills using the Can Gym badge system.
WHAT IS THE CAN GYM PROGRAM?
CANGYM is Gymnastics Canada's National Skill Development and Evaluation Program for Men's and Women's Artistic Gymnastics. CANGYM was developed and tested by coaches working with beginner to advanced recreational gymnasts and with entry level competitive gymnasts. The program is to be used as a progress monitoring tool to ensure that children learn the foundations and skills of gymnastics with proper technique and safety in mind while having fun. Fun - Fitness & Fundamentals
The CANGYM program has various levels of progress and skill mastery, similar to swimming lessons. There is no set time for children to pass these levels, as ever child is different, and it is important to have the skills mastered properly to progress to the next level, for safety and technique purposes. In our club we have combined classes with 2 or 3 levels in them.
JR CLASSES - AGES 6-8 years
- CANGYM JR1 CLASS - Burgundy (Beginner Level) & Red
- CANGYM JR2 CLASS - Tan & Bronze

CANGYM JR 1, JR2, SR1/2 classes that include levels Burgundy, Red, Tan and Bronze need 100% of skills mastered to be moved to the next level. Report cards/ evaluations are done and handed out at the end of each session letting you know how your child is developing skills and how they are doing in class.
NOTE: Children DO NOT pass a level per session. Report cards are handed out regularly for communication purposes, but it may take more time for skills to be developed especially as the levels progress into more complex skills.
